Key changes to the foreign exchange regulations in 2022
The Moroccan Foreign Exchange Office (Office des Changes) has published a new version of the General Instruction on Foreign Exchange Operations (IGOC 2022), as well as a Circular specifically for Moroccans who have resided abroad (Circular No. 1/2022). The relevant provisions came into effect on January 3, 2022.
IGOC 2022 continues to move on liberalizing the foreign exchange regime and introduces new measures aimed at further liberalizing and easing both current and capital transactions, thus consolidating the process of liberalizing foreign exchange regulations while consolidating the convertibility regime for investments.
